DL360 G5 - Smart Array not detecting drive bay 1, 2, 3, 4
i am very new to the world of servers so please have mercy...
I have 6 drives plugged in to all 6 slots, and only drives in bay 5 and 6 are recognized. I tried swapping the drives to see if the HDD are faulty, but that is not the case. Only the drives in bay 5 and 6 are recognized, only those two drives have the indicator lights. I have Smart Array P400i.
I've read that it might be a controller problem but that seems to only happen the other way around (bay 1-4 works, 5&6 does not).
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Re: DL360 G5 - Smart Array not detecting drive bay 1, 2, 3, 4
hi,
please check if you have the cable
that's a part of the quickspecs of the server
"
NOTE: 4 bays active in most models. Smart Array P400i controller and Mini-SAS storage cable (P/N 399546-B21) required for activation of 5th and 6th drive bays.
"
regards,
