DL360 G5 Upgrade SAS/SATA HDD

Hi all,

On HP Official QuickSpecs it only Max 300G SAS on the list.

I am wonder, if I have the HDD Tray (For example the old 73G SAS HDD Tray), if I remove this 73G SAS and buy a latest HP 2.5" 600G or 1.2TB SAS, then install this new HDD on the 73G HDD Tray then plug it in the DL360 G5 it will work?

Else a old server that still can working well, but just HDD space not enpugh then full upgrade to newer like G7/G8 is not a good idea.

Anyone who had using this way on above to upgrade your old HP Server and work?

not testet with so large SAS but on my ML350 (I have at home) I hav used 2x500GB sata disks with no problem

THE 2nd DL360 G5 also bought from myself, just my Boss let me place it in the server room for my lab using.

Happy to know that your ML350 can work with the SATA.

If I have money, will buy two of 600G SAS for a try later :-)
