DL360 G5 does not reach POST
I was wondering if anyone knew what the small row of LEDs on the system board indicate.
It is a row of 8 of them.
When powering on the server, within 5-10 seconds these small LEDs all flash on, then off again.
Then the last 2 flash on and off an amber colour over and over.
The fans do not have the chance the start properly, and the server never reaches POST.
Could someone enlighten me to what these LEDs signify?

Re: DL360 G5 does not reach POST
Hi,
Bring the server to minmum configuration, uninstall the following components, if installed:
- All additional DIMMs
- Leave only the minimum required to boot the server - either one DIMM or a pair of DIMMs.
- All additional cooling fans, if applicable
- All additional power supplies, if applicable (leave one installed)
- All hard drives
- All optical drives (DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, and so forth)
- All optional mezzanine cards
- All expansion boards
- Clear The NV Ram.

Re: DL360 G5 does not reach POST
As for your leds.. (an attempt to answer your question) - you can find some information about them in the Proliant Troubleshoot Guide. I believe the ones you are referring to are called port 84/85.
http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/DL360-G5-not-not-getting-out-of-post-Fans-100-and-no-video/td-p/5298137
Might help you.

Re: DL360 G5 does not reach POST
Hi,
Port 84/85 LEDs are not applicable to this server, its available in few server models (Ex: DL580, DL585, DL785 G5, ML570 with different generation servers.. .etc.).
About the LEDs which you are refering, you may refer the HP ProLiant DL360 Generation 5 Server Maintenance and Service Guide:
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00710376/c00710376.pdf
Refer page number 75 for System board components, if these LEDs are ment for user troubleshooting you will find the information. Also refer page number 76 for HP Systems Insight Display and LEDs for troubleshooitng.
