DL360 G7 Xeon X5680 support
Hi,
it seems Intel Xeon X5680 is not officially supported for DL360 G7 (but X5690 is). In some of DL360 G7 X5680 is working well and in others not at all (just beeping, no display). Both DL360 G7 types/barebones fully updated (firmware etc).
What could be reason for this? Motherboard revision (btw P/N of motherboard is same for both types)?

Re: DL360 G7 Xeon X5680 support
Hi,
Refer to Server QuickSpecs.
http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetHTML.aspx?docname=c04284501
It does not support X5680 but it does support X5690.
I don't know the real reason why some of your server supports X5680, but it could be due to System Board revision or BIOS version.
Thank You!

Re: DL360 G7 Xeon X5680 support
Well, it turns out there is "normal" model of DL360 G7 and "performance" model of DL360 G7. Only "performance" model is 130W TDP CPU ready (X5680/X5690). "Normal" only accepts 95W TDP CPUs (ie up to X5675).
