Hello everyone.
Machine: DL360 Gen9 8SFF w P440ar with 2 SAS 15k drives.
Considering adding new SSD drives.
Questions:
- Do I need to consider a new Smart Array Controller? I know P440ar supports SSD.
- Does DL360 Gen9 supports more than one Smart Array Controller? If it does support, makes sense using two controllers?
- If it does support, how the two controllers know which disks from the 8 slots to use?
Thank you in advance

SolutionThe backplane must be connected to a single controller.
You can install SSDs in the remaining slots.
You may consider another controller and an external disk chassis for more additional disks.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: DL360 Gen9 8SFF max Smart Arrays
A single backplane belongs to a single controller.
An additional backplane may be connected to another controller.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
