DL360 NIC driver prolbem

We have a DL360 G2 box running a red hat 7.2 with 2 NC7780 nics. We installed the bcm5700 advanced server program for linux (basp). The 802.1q work fine, but when trying a dmesg under linux we have this message : no license, the driver will taint the kernel.

Does anyone have an idea of the meaning of this message??

It's like saying you are putting a un-signed driver on a Windows 2000 Server.
It's just a warning messge.

Re: DL360 NIC driver prolbem

the old version of the driver did not have the MODULE_LICENSE
If you follow this link : http://www.uwsg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0110.2/0369.html and you will get an idea what it means
try this new driver http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/13668.html
