DL360 boot problem with PCI-X SCSI adapter
I installed 374654-B21 SCSI Host Adapter in a DL360 G4p. This will be used to connect an Ultrium 1/8 library.
Problem: SCSI drives attached to 6i are no longer recognized and server will not boot.
I cannot figure out where the conflict is. I understand the logic that the server thinks that there are drives on the PCI adapter.
Boot order for adapters is set to 6i first but it cannot see the drives at all.
I've searched HP up and down and read manuals for 6i,DL360 and 374654 and nothing says what to do to resolve conflict or set jumper....HELP!

Re: DL360 boot problem with PCI-X SCSI adapter
Can you enter the BIOS set up utility when the the 6i initializes during boot up? Check to see if you can see the drives there.
See if you can change the IRQ's the 2 cards are using, if at all in the RBSU.
Let us know.

Re: DL360 boot problem with PCI-X SCSI adapter
reset SCSI backplane and make sure it seated correctly
Verify system Rom Update
Optional Card 64/133 should not cause problem ├в seeing drives

I would suggest switching the order of the cards to see if that makes a difference, because it does sound like it is defaulting to the SCSI BIOS and not the 6i BIOS for the Boot and then the boot location id is messed up.

Re: DL360 boot problem with PCI-X SCSI adapter
I checked the backplane and it had unseated just a bit, almost unnoticable. Reseated and everything looks ok.
