DL360 "Auto Power On" issue

I have an old proliant dl360. 2xPIII-800mhz, 1280mb, 2x9gb hdd, fedora core 4.

If I shut down the server, it powers back on by itself after a certain period of time. How do I disable this setting? Thanks.

Re: DL360 "Auto Power On" issue

1. Update the BIOS
2. Disable an option called Automatic Server Recovery from the BIOS

Re: DL360 "Auto Power On" issue

yes it can be due to ASR
But there can be other more reason so check the h/w logs IML log then go for it.

ASR is protect your system. But can disabled for daignostics reasons. In ASR we have time as 5 min let say then system wait for 5 min H/W is not reponding to command then ASR is activated. So there can be aome issues on server.

So disable for time being then check the Logs.
