DL360G1 power up by itself

Hi all. My ProLiant DL360G1 is having quite interesting problem - everytime in 2:00 GMT+1 it will start up by itself. I am wondering why it's doing this as I went through the settings in BIOS and I am unable to find anything causing this. Automatic System Recovery is disabled. There is last BIOS update available applied to this machine. Machine is now not intended to be online 24/7 so I would like to get rid of this problem. Any idea ?

I don't remember if dl360 g1 has ILO...

If yes (or if you added ILO or RILOE2):
go into the ilo/RILOE configuration from wherever you want and turn off the "automatic power on" option.

Re: DL360G1 power up by itself

Unfortunately I got no iLO (I wish I had it, but for now I can not spare money for it). I made the SmartStart CD (5.5 if I remember) but looks like it's not bootable so for the accessing the BIOS and settings I am using the boot diskette only. Found no option for automatic start there. So I am either blind or there is not such option in my BIOS :(

Re: DL360G1 power up by itself

power spikes can have this effect: do you have an env. where that could be a possibility?

i managed a lot of dl360 g1 and sometimes i had similar issues. Anyway was always spot events and not recurring.

what time do you shut the server down?

Re: DL360G1 power up by itself

Yes, power spike was my opinion before I realized, that it is powering up EXACTLY at 2:00am each day. Shutdown was performed regulary by poweroff comand (running CentOS 5.3). Also machine is not connected to UPS, it's regular 240V power grid only. This is test machine and so it's not necesary and required to have it online full time.

Is there a auto power on setting in the bios?

Re: DL360G1 power up by itself

Do not know why it's marked as solved - problem is still there.

It's not cause by some WOL for sure - problem occured even with network cable disconnected. Interesting one.
