DL360G4 Drive issues
I've had problems with this new series. First issue was the hard drives being marked bad (red LED) before the HP splash screen displayed. Even spare drives were marked bad. The red LEDs on the SCSI backplane would even light red without any drive in the server. Upgraded firmware on the server and 6i to latest to no avail. The solution: The SCSI backplane was not fully seated into the system board, there is no hold down clip or screw. It seems as if the DC fan assembly and the seated H.D.D.s are supposed to keep it in place. Not necessarily true. Try reseating the backplane, it might just fall out into your hand.

Re: DL360G4 Drive issues
Hi,
I have a similar problem.
Red LED is on in second drive bay (w or w/u disk inserted).
I can normally create mirror (both disks are detected) and after reboot no errors are shown, when controller detects a logical drive...
Did the backplane reseat, checked cables, Firmware upgrade,... nothing
Could it be some shortcircuit on backplane? :)

Re: DL360G4 Drive issues
I see that ones
I have RAID 5 and I remove one drive.
RED light show me where to return disk.
This is very helpful becouse if you do not remember when to place new drive :))
