DL360G4 and Debian?
Hello,
is there any way to get the HP agents working under Debian Linux?
Debian itself is running. I'm using kernel 2.6.8. But I did not get the HP tools runnning.
Thanks,
Andreas

Re: DL360G4 and Debian?
Hi Andreas,
there is a document called "Installing Management Agents for Linux - How To" at:
h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00223285/c00223285.pdf
The chapter "manual installation" could be helpful for you. You need RPM, but this should be available for debian.
I have not tried the agents under debian linux, only with SLES 8 and 9 and RH ES 2.1, no problems so far.
I recommend you to use a certified linux distribution (like SLES or RH) on a certified hardware, if you are install this server in a production environment.
But debian should be running, of course ;-)
Good Luck and Regards,
Kai-Uwe
