DL360G5 and NC310F Gb fibre card

Installed NC310F in DL360G5 and connecting to Cisco 3550 using 100Base-LX GBIC. On the CISCO side the GBIC light is green,however on the card and in W2K3 NIC indicates no connection.

Using HP network utility status shows faulty cabling.

Don't understand why switch light would be on though if it couldn't connect to NIC port?

Thoughts?

The NC310F is 1000BaseSX only. It will not work when connected to a 1000BaseLX GBIC.

The probable reason for why the link light is on is because the Cisco LX GBIC for whatever reason can see the link pulses sent by the NIC but not the other way around. Connecting LX to SX is not compatible.
