DL365 G5, QLogic QLE4062c, iSCSI boot

Can anyone tell me definitively if it's possible to select the QLE4062C as a boot device on the DL365 G5?

There seems to be reference in the latest BIOS release notes to adding the ability to select other iSCSI HBAs as Boot Controller devices. But I've updated to the latest and there is still no way of selecting the HBA.

Try this....

To enable the QLogic iSCSI HBA to Boot from a SAN

1 During server POST, press Crtl+q to enter the QLogic iSCSI HBA configuration
menu.

2 Select the I/O port to configure.
By default, the Adapter Boot mode is set to Disable.

3 Configure the HBA.

Re: DL365 G5, QLogic QLE4062c, iSCSI boot

I have configured the HBA to boot from SAN and have installed ESX to the boot LUN.

The problem is I have found no way to select the HBA as a boot device in the server BIOS.

Hi,

Does this issue stil exists? Maybe new firmware helps?

One of our customers wants to use boot from SAN on their DL365 G5 and DL585 G5 servers.

I'm running A10 which is the latest and there is still no way of setting the boot controller to the iSCSI HBA.
