DL370 G6 - Constant Beep

Anyone experiencing constant beep on DL370 G6? Beep usually starts at the Proliant boot up screen and sometimes the beep stays on nonstop or it goes away after the POST. We have updated all firmware and cleared NVRAM and didn't solve the issue.

Any clue at all?

Just want to add some details to it. Server works perfectly fine but the beep just won't die completely.

Re: DL370 G6 - Constant Beep

I have seen a semilar problem, more that a year ago, on another and older model.

I can't remember clearly.

Check you IML.
If any failed or degraded entries. Then mark them as repaired.
That should clear the beeping.
Also there's a reason for those entries.
Have that fixed.

Brand new server with no OS on it yet. No fault or any error indication light at the front. Ran Insight Diagnostic but found no error.

Re: DL370 G6 - Constant Beep

That's likely to caurse an entry in the IML. The Smart Array will come up with a post "error", saying it's unconfigured.
Boot on the Smart Start CD.
Run the insight Diagnostics, and Mark entry as repaired.

I could be wrong. But in the case, that I had, it solved the problem.

We ran the Insight Diagnostic, but found no error. Could that be still an ENTRT there?

Re: DL370 G6 - Constant Beep

Yes, there could be an entry in the IML, even though you don't have an OS installed.

Run Insight diagnostics, from the Smart Start CD.
Select the Logs tab.
Select the Integrated management log (IML).
Check if I'm right or wrong.

You can mark the entries as repaired, if there's some. And that should stop the beebing, if I'm right.
