DL380 6GB memory

I have a DL380 G3 Server, server installed to 6 X 1 GB =6 GB system memory, Server installed on Windows 2000 Server SP4, but windows operating system properties 3.6 GB system RAM, why ?

In your c:\boot.ini file, you need to ad the switch /PAE to your OS boot line, example below...

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Server" /fastdetect /PAE

Additionally, you may want to use the /3G switch if your running SQL or Exchange.

You will have to configure the memory in the RBSU.
By default the last bank is configured as online spare.
This would mean that out of your 6gb you could only use 4gb minus any shared video memory
If you want to use all 6gb then then turn off online memory spare.
