DL380/DL360 will not power of with linux
Hello
We have a few Proliant DL380G3 and DL360G3 servers installed with Linux Redhat 8.0 kernel 2.4.20-28.
When shuting them down (halt -p or poweroff) linux shuts down but the machine would not power off, and it will spin the fans at maximum speed (hard drives seems to continue to operate as well).
How can we fix it?
Daniel

Re: DL380/DL360 will not power of with linux
Daniel:
Do you have the ProLiant Support Pack for Red Hat Linux 8.0 installed on the servers?
Click here to install version 7.10B:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/21065.html
On the DL360, you need to follow the process listed in this document:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?locale=en_US&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=316558&prodTypeId=15351&objectID=PSD_EL030207_CW01
Let us know if this does not fix it.
