DL380 Dual processor upgrade

I'm about to deploy a DL380G6 (Server 2008 x64) with a single processor. If i wish to add a second processor in the future will i just be able to plug in the upgrade and have the system and os recognise it without re-installation? Advice appreciated.

hi,

if you like to upgrade the server with the second CPU, you just need to buy a CPU upgrade package from HP and install the CPU, the OS will recognize that the number of CPU was increased, without re-installation of OS.

Take care with G6 with putting memory on CPU2 banks to get memory performances.
