Hello,
We have a DL380 G3 server which had a pasword setup for ilo but unfortunately we've messed up and can't access ilo since the password was lost. Hate to have messed this up but I own this issue. Anyone know of any documentation where this reset can be done? Thanks in advance for reading and responding.
Cheers,
Scottr

Solution
To reset Administrator Password on iLO:
1. Ensure that SNMP is installed because it was a prerequisite for HP Insight Management Agents.
2. Ensure that HP Insight Management Agents are installed.
Unzip the attached Riloreset.zip file to folder c:\hp\ilo.
Extract the file Administrator_reset_pw.xml from c:\hp\ilo\Hponcfg.zip to the c:\hp\ilo folder.
Edit the file with the username you would like to reset and also edit the PASSWORD value="newpass123456" to the new password.
Than go to command prompt to folder c:\hp\ilo and run the following command:
HPONCFG.exe /f Administrator_reset_pw.xml /l log.txt > output.txt
We don't require the old password to reset the account.
For additional information please read the PDF file in the attached zip file.
Thanks

Re: DL380 Forgotten ilo password
Hi Scott,
There are 2 methods to reset the administrator password.
1. Open the system box and toggle the System maintenance switch - S1 switch to "On" and restart the server the iLO security is disabled. Then turn off the server toggle the S1 switch to "Off" and restart the server press F8 login into iLO Bios and setup a new password.
2. Use the HPONCFG utility. This utility could be run online, no downtime required. Check the following forum posted by Ramesh Naik:
