DL380 G1 died after smartstart tried to load a new bios
I shut it down, and pulled the battery.
I reinstalled it.
The system wont even POST now
I have tried the boot cd, of course that doesn't boot.
I went to a friends and made a boot floppy ( I am all linux,, hp/compaq needs to make iso floppy/cd images for boot disks, I dont use win)
So anyway the boot floppy doesn'y work either.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Re: DL380 G1 died after smartstart tried to load a new bios
Can anyone tell me if U57 , the only socketed chip on the board that i can see, which has a part number sticker of 143870-402 is the bios chip.
I called hp/compaq support and they had no clue.
Its a 4 sided chip, square socket at the front edge of the board as mounted in the case.
Can you show me this bois recovery proceedure, I have been looking for one and cannot seem to find one..

I used what I know, that didn't work. I haven't been able to find a writeup documenting exactly what the proceedure is, and I have looked.
Thanks :)

Re: DL380 G1 died after smartstart tried to load a new bios
I ordered another motherboard.
Wiped the nvram and then found out the floppy doesn't even light up when power is applied, and since its cleaned out, no post video until i can configure it, like wise I believe that I cannot boot off cd until its configured,, is this correct?
