DL380 G1 insight Diagnostics online Edition not supported

Hello to everybody,

I've installed w2k Server on a DL380 G1 Server (with Smartstart 5.5, w2k installation, SP4, IE6, Rollup1).
After that I've installed the PSP 7.51A on the machine. Quite everything was working except the Insight Diagnostics Online Edition - There I got a message that this is not supported on the DL380 - wondering.
Then I've uninstalled all HP Programmes through Add/Remove Programmes and installed PSP7.20 - and everything worked, also the insight diagnostics.
After that I reinstalled the PSP7.51A again, and had the same problems as the first time.

What is wrong with this. What have I to do, to get the Insight Diagnostis online Edition working with PSP 7.51?

Try to update first the SystemBoard Firmware to the latest version.
Check this link for Proliant DL380 downloads. http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1122.html

Then reinstall the PSP 7.51A.

Hi,

the system ROM and all other equipment were updated with the Firmware CD 7.50 and the necessary disks to the latest versions before I started to install w2k through samrtstrat 5.5.

Hi,

when I install the Insight Diagnostics File from the download center it is the same ase by installing the File outof PSP7.51. It states that insight diagnostics is not supported on this machine.

Hello again,

I yust did some further trials.
PSP7.10,7.20,7.30 and 7.40 are working well - there the Online Diagnostics works well.

When I install 7.50 or 7.51 I got the described error.
First there is a MEssagae Box that says "HP Insight DIagnostics is not supportet on this product. Manufacturer: Compaq, Product Name: Proliant DL380, System ID:h" Thena second Message box after a klick apppears with quite the same text in German, then again the textbox in english, again one in german, and at least a text box with the Message " hpdiags is busy".

Who do I get the online diagnostics work with PSP 7.5X in this machine.

I tried it also on a second machine (dl380 G1) and there are the same problems.

What changed from 7.40 to 7.5x?

I'm just facing the same behaviour using the same machine type and software releases. Has this issue been resolved or are you still working around using PSP 7.40?

forgotten to mention:

The szenario originally described by Thomas also applies for PSP 7.60A instead of 7.51A. Furthermore, we can observe the same behaviour on servers running w2k3.
