DL380 G1 motherboard replacement
I had a DL380 with a broken LAN socket, so needed to replace the motherboard. Seemed simple, but having replaced with a new board the system auto shuts down with "thermal sensor #4" error. So I tried the board in another dl380, now the second dl380 won't even boot withour shutting down beofre even getting to windows. This happens on the "new" or the previously working motherboard. I wonder if there is some magic I need to work after replacing a motherboard so the system stops "rejecting" it?

Re: DL380 G1 motherboard replacement
Tim,
Did you remember to change the switch settings on the new board to match the old one? The DL380G1 system board is shared with the ML370G1 but the Chassis ID switches are different since the ML370G1 has a different riser card layout. It's possible that you may be seeing a problem due to the system board thinking it's in a ML370G1 chassis.
Please check with the attached image.
I hope this helps.
Brian

Re: DL380 G1 motherboard replacement
yes, I did check SW1, wasn't sure about SW2, but what you've sent me confirms I don't need to change it.
