DL380 G2 Can't be upgraded to 4GB without BSOD

Hi, We have a Proliant DL380 G2 currently with 3GB of RAM made up of 2x 1gb sticks & 2x 512mb sticks. This server is working perfectly with Windows 2000 server. However, we are trying to add another 2x 512MB sticks & as soon as we do this, the server will not boot into Windows 2000 server..It will pass BIOS checks and see's the 4GB but Windows 2000 server doesnt seem to like it...

Can anyone throw any light on this??

Cheers

Check if Bios up to date
Test memory alone trough BANK A
Swap with other pair between banks
What brand HP or ...?

Kov, Thanks for the quick response, The BIOS is fairly recent, not quite to the latest level, but only a few out. we have tested this memory by itself and it is okay? Basically the BIOS see's the 4GB and has no errors, it is only as we start booting into Windows 2000 server the machine BSOD everytime.....

Try to Update BIOS still and see if you can get to safe mode
