DL380 G2 HDD expansion
I have a DL380 G2 with an RAID 5 array of 3 67GB drives. I am running out of space and would like to replace the drives with three 146GB drives. My idea is to get a good backup and test it, then replace the drives one at a time allowing the array to rebuild. After that using the ACU to create an additional array with the extra space. Then create an additional drive in Windows and move shares as needed. I have replaced failed drives with larger drives in the past, and done this once with a mirror, but wanted to see if everyone agreed this would work. Thanks!

Re: DL380 G2 HDD expansion
'should' work, make sure you have a good backup first though :)
depending on the array controller you have installed you *may/should* be able to expand the array rather that creating an additional array out of the 'spare' space.
Windows, like you say, will probably want and additional drive, though (unless disk is dynamic).
make sure the backup is a good one before proceeding, good luck!

Re: DL380 G2 HDD expansion
So DL80D2 integration Smart 5I controller can not support RAID 5+0.If you insert larger drive in originally RAID,larger drive according to 67GB initialization
