DL380 G2 NON-SYSTEM DISK

I am getting a non-system disk error. I have begun a new installation of Win 2K. I booted off the smartstart cd and followed the instructions.

The array is setup with 3 36.4 GB drives for RAID 5.

I have tried reconfiguring the array but to not avail.

Have you done a system erase first?

Re: DL380 G2 NON-SYSTEM DISK

thank you for getting back to me...

I deleted the array and re-established the array and I thought it would erase the O/S when I did that push ran the SmartStart CD

You need to do a complete system erase, not just to delete the array.

Re: DL380 G2 NON-SYSTEM DISK

If you do a system erase and allow SmartStart to configure the system, it will not only set the boot order correctly, it will also set a number of other parameters to the right values. It enhances system performance when everything is set right, and you can never be 100% sure you got it all correctly when you do manual settings.

We always start with a system erase on a new installation.
