Re: DL380 G2 Smart Array 5300
ok SA 5300 you got a BSOD OK
you can download th driver here
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/locate/69_1237.html
look for this
HP ProLiant Smart Array 5x and 6x Controller Driver for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003
but if got a bdod I think you need
Firmware Maintenance CD to update during booting phase
if that does work I think you should change the SA for this one 171383-001
partsurfer.hp.com/
PC Board (Interface) : Smart Array 5300 series Ultra3 SCSI LVD/SE controller board - Has two internal high density 68-pin Ultra3 SCSI connectors, two external very high density 68-pin Ultra3 SCSI connectors
regards

Re: DL380 G2 Smart Array 5300
Jorge, the issue is that you do not have the driver installed for windows. The easiest way to fix this is to "borrow" an on board chip from another 380G2 and recable the server to boot off that. Leave the 5300 installed and then install the latest PSP (7.70a). This will install the 5300 driver. Then shutdown the server and remove the "borrowed" onboard chip and recable to run off the 5300. During the POST process be sure to change your boot controller to the 5300. After that you are all set.
