DL380 G2 - SmartArray5I

I have multiple servers that after I reboot them the array controller quits working. Sometimes I can take it out and reset it and it will work sometimes powering on/off the server multiple times fixes it and sometimes it never works again.

I have reset every major component from memory, processor, redundant fans, etc.

*** I have all the latest bios, etc updates on these servers.

I have a hard time believing that 6-8 servers all have bad array controllers in them.

Anybody experience this issue before?

get 5300 controller for all servers and remaing 5i use for those that still working

I had a simular problem. But mine was the 6400 Raid Controller Card. Are you sure you dont have a card in their? The 5i is integrated. My problem ended up being all my cards were coming loose. You have to get the retainer clips that holds the cards securely to the motherboard. Once I did that my controller card problems went away.
