DL380 G2 System Management Driver
I am trying to figure out how to get the fans on my G2 to spin down with Server 2008 installed. Everything else works fine with 2008, but I can't get the System Management driver that controls them to install, nor find a piece of software to at least take over the fans (i.e. SpeedFan simply locks up). I've tried the 2003 driver (worked for the NICs), and the G4+ drivers as well (says wrong device). Is there a work-around to get it to install, or a different driver/software I can use?
Also, I understand that the G2 series is not Server 2008 supported, but as this is a home server it's not feasible to buy a newer one, but I do need IIS 7 for development work.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: DL380 G2 System Management Driver
Hi Chris,
If you extract the 2003 Management Driver kit rather than directly install it and then manually install the driver from Device Manager, does that work?

Re: DL380 G2 System Management Driver
No dice unfortunately. Looked hopeful for a second, but I it fails with "device attached to the system is not functioning".
