DL380 G2

Hello, can someone confirm to me the fastest processor for this chassis is a 1.4Ghz PIII?

My boss wants to upgrade one of our DL380 G2 servers already running a 1.4Ghz processor: is the only option to fit another processor?

Please advise of part numbers if you have any to hand.

Many thanks

XMA

Re: DL380 G2

Hi,

Yes. The DL380 G2 only supports up to 1.4GHz PIII.

Part numbers for the relevant upgrades are:

P1133 512KB Pentium III Processor Option Kit 201097-B21
P1266 512KB Pentium III Processor Option Kit 201098-B21
P1400-512KB Pentium III Processor Option Kit 201099-B21

Hope this helps,

Regards,

What is the member point system?
Member status is established using a points-based feedback mechanism. Authors of original questions "grade" (on a Scale from 1-10) other members who reply to their questions. The higher the grade the more effective the response was in solving the question. This feature is HP's way of turning the reward mechanism over to the community. Each response to a question is eligible to receive feedback for its success in solving the user's problems.

Re: DL380 G2

How about 5 points?

He read me a line from a manual that I don't have. Not earth-moving stuff, but very kind and helpful to a stranger.

Or how about 10 points?

He solved my small, simple problem in no time at all: he gets the points for being quick rather than particularly clever?

What points would you give him?

Re: DL380 G2

Hi XMA,

Completely up to you, but 10 would be nice for the time taken to search for the information which you could have found for yourself if you'd looked. It didn't take me long !!

Cheers,

Rob
