DL380 G3 BSOD Reboot

We have a DL380 G3 running an Oracle Database as part of a cluster and this node intermittently produces this BSOD:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini031104-01.dmp.
[EventID 1001, Save Dump]

The problem is becoming more frequent!

I have tried updating to the latest System Rom Firmwares, updating service packs, mcafee updates...

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Re: DL380 G3 BSOD Reboot

Michael:

There are 19 'hits' in the MS KnowledgeBase for 0x0000007F. Here is a generic one to get you started:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;137539&Product=win2000

Go to www.memtest86.exe to get a memory diagnostic (you can use this to create a bootable CD).

I would install the PSP v7.0 from here:

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_4706.html

and see if that helps.

If the server is part of an MSA500 or MSA1000 packaged cluster, please tell us.

Re: DL380 G3 BSOD Reboot

After searching the forums - I disabled Hyperthreading from the System BIOS and the server has remained up ever since!!

Thanks for your help,
