The server keeps resetting for no reason so I want to see the temperature of the CPU, but no temperature monitors I can find support this CPU. If the documentaion says they do, it still doesn't work.
Any suggestions?

Re: DL380 G3, CPU Monitor
What OS version & BIOS revision are you running?
Do you have all of the current system firmware and drivers (health) installed?
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=3288130тМй=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodClassId=-1&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=316529
The DL380 G3 will use the software health drivers to monitor/control the system environment (if they are installed). If the software drivers are not installed it will use hardware BIOS to monitor the system. Either way the system should have some record that you can pull up through the IML or diags.

Re: DL380 G3, CPU Monitor
Connect to the iLO port or use SMH, SIM, etc...
There are several ways:

Re: DL380 G3, CPU Monitor
I've disabled ASR and server make no more shutdown even if syslog report this message:
hpasmlited[3911]: CRITICAL: System Overheating (Zone 3, Location CPU, Temperature Unknown)
hpasmlited[3911]: CRITICAL: System Overheating (Zone 4, Location CPU, Temperature Unknown)
So I've starte hpasmcli and found that:
Sensor Location Temp Threshold
------ -------- ---- ---------
#1 I/O_ZONE 43C/109F 70C/158F
#2 AMBIENT 28C/82F 39C/102F
#3 CPU#1 255C/491F 127C/260F
#4 CPU#1 255C/491F 127C/260F
#5 POWER_SUPPLY_BAY 44C/111F 77C/170F
#6 CPU#2 - 127C/260F
#7 CPU#2 - 127C/260F
Indeed 1 CPU only is installed, but I'm surprised that zone 3 and 4 report an incorrect temperature (unknown/overheat).
Is this an hw or firmware problem?
Thanks for any answer.
