DL380 G3 Displays 4 CPU's in Task Manager

I have configured two DL380 G3 servers with dual P4 3.2GB processors in each. One of them is a Web server, the other is a Database server. I noticed that in the Task Manager "Performance" window it displays 4 CPU's.

I tried right-clicking a process in the "Processes" window and setting the Affinity for it, it tells me that I have CPU0, CPU1, CPU2, CPU3.

I'm a little wierd, but not crazy. I know I only installed two processors, besides, it's only a two processor board!

Can anyone answer this fine problem?

Re: DL380 G3 Displays 4 CPU's in Task Manager

Intel Xeon processors have a feature called hyperthreading where a single physical CPU acts like 2, so you don't have a problem. You can turn it off in BIOS if you want, but in general you'll get better performance by leaving it on.

Hi,

Disabling the RBSU will do for us in this case.
