DL380 -G3 Drive replacement

We have a DL380 - G3 with potentially failed drives in a RAID 1 configuration.

Presumably the drives will rebuild automatically when Hot swapped ? - can someone confirm this is the case ?

Current error message " SCSI Port 2 Drive ID 2 RIS copies within this drive do not match "

Re: DL380 -G3 Drive replacement

1) 'We have a DL380 - G3 with potentially failed drives in a RAID 1 configuration' .. Failed DRIVES ???

Raid 1 = 2 HDD mirrored; 2 DRIVES failed... DATA is LOST.

one HDD fail, yes HOT SWAP with another good known disk will rebuild the data.

2) RIS copies do not match: seems that the HDD u have replaced already has some RIS information. Try:
a) ERASE UTILITY on a test server using this HDD.
b) in ACU try changing the read/write value to something else other than 50-50; restart & change it back to 50-50 again. (works at times)

Cheers !

Re: DL380 -G3 Drive replacement

Sorry, more detail

4 drives in a 2x2 RAID 1 config, so the system reports both mirror's failed

Re: DL380 -G3 Drive replacement

Seems u are talking about RAID 1+0.
both mirror failed ? duh!
Put the blank HDD u have on a Test server, boot from smartstart & use the erase utility.
once done, try replacing on this server one at a time.
