DL380 G3 - Issue with LED lights when trying to install PCI card
I am trying to install a PCI card using the Hot Plug option.
I turned the power off by pressing the PCI Hot Plug button. I then inserted the PCI card. When I pressed the PCI Hot Plug button again nothing happened. The power was not restored to the slot and now none of the LED lights are on.
Thanks
Tom.

Re: DL380 G3 - Issue with LED lights when trying to install PCI card
Without the USB card I can't do any backups.
Thanks again,
Tom.

Re: DL380 G3 - Issue with LED lights when trying to install PCI card
I dont think you can hot add if this is what you trying to do.What is your O/S also
check Quickspec if your card is supported.
Other than this it can only be slot, card, driver.

Re: DL380 G3 - Issue with LED lights when trying to install PCI card
The thing is, it was working. We bought a second card for another server (both 2003) when it didn't work. I took the working one out of the first server and tried it on the second. When it didn't work there I returned it to the first server and now the server doesn't recognize it. to boot the green LED lights will not turn back on.

Re: DL380 G3 - Issue with LED lights when trying to install PCI card
You will need to trouble shoot as i have said is the Server live you may need to do a
reboot then take it from there. Can you see the card and driver loaded in windows.I am shortly of for the day so try what i have said as this is the process to fault find.
