DL380 G3 Memory issue

Is there an issue with running a DL380 G3 with Win2k Advance server with dual processors and the following memory:
2 x 512Mb & 2 x 256Mb

We have had problems where the only option has been to re-boot the server, on POST we get a error simular to the following: "Hardware failure call hardware supplier. NMI parity check memory fail. System halted"
So far it has always been the 256Mb RAM boards causing the problem and replacing these has cured it. This has happened to 3 out of the 8 systems installed in the exact same order that they were installed!
Could the mixed memory be an issue (they are matched pairs though).

Re: DL380 G3 Memory issue

Hi Karl:

There is no issues with mixed memroy in different banks as long as the memory is only HP Certified for that server and not 3rd party memory.

Possible diffective patch of memory dimms.

Hey, look a light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: DL380 G3 Memory issue

This is not becuase of the mixed memory, the memory could have failed becuase the way it was handled(physical contact-ie static charge can sopil the memory).

The error points to defective memory module, need that replaced.
