DL380-G3 NC7781 integrated NIC Line Speed/Duplex Choices

We have 11 new DL380's and when we go into the Advanced tab on the NIC setup in Network Properties to setup the NICs for 1000Full Duplex, the drop down box does not contain any choices above 100M Full.

What do I need to do to get the proper choices.

I have updated to the latest drivers 6.64.0.0 dated 5/21/2003. We are running W2K with SP4 and all current patches.

Thanks,
Lane

Hi Lane,

You should find the 1000 setting if you try to configure your NC7781 using the HP Teaming utility ( which is the prefered tool for configuring HP NICS ) instead of the Windows Network properties.

Let me know if it helps

Victor,

I've noticed the same thing. The Windows Networking only goes up to 100/Full, while the Teaming utility goes all the way to 1000/Full.

Does that depend on whether the NIC is plugged into a 10/100 port? I'll have to check this out, we do have Gig copper ports, but haven't seen this before.

Hi

I am not sure but I think this is because the driver is linked to the teaming utility ( but I am not 100% sure )

Thanks. That did it. Odd that it shows up with the NC7170 but not the built in NC7781 NIC's in Windows Network Properties!
