Hi All,
Server: Proliant DL380 G3
OS: Windows 2000 Server
Array Controller: Smart Array 5i Plus
Query: I wish to create two RAID 1 arrays on the integrated SA 5i+ controller spreading the disks 1 each on the seperate channels. I believe SA 5i + can be activated to run in duplex channel mode, in which case disk slot 0,1,2,3 are on port 2 and slots 4 & 5 are on port 1. However, I am not sure how to do it. Is there a switch on the system board that I need to turn on?
Is the duplex mode of the controller only available when you are using the SCSI connector at the back to connect to an external storage enclosure?
Responses would be appreciated and rewarded with points asap!

Solution
If you look at the inside of your top cover there is a diagram on how to configure duplex.

Re: DL380 G3 SA 5i + how to activate duplex mode?
The rear connector is port 1 of the 5i, so if you use duplex you cannot use the external connector as port 1 will be used for the internal drives.
