DL380 G3 - Windows Server 2008 Compatible?

Can I install Windows server 2008 on a DL 380 G3? The server is still under warranty … as are numerous other G3’s in our inventory. A non-administrator upgraded their server to 2008 but of course didn’t have the know how to upgrade the drivers. When I went to fix it I couldn’t find 2008 drivers. I tried installing the 2003 PSP’s but 3-4 said they had ‘Failed Dependencies’ (see below). I tried installing these manually but they said the OS version was incompatible.

install W2008 and install the PSP for W2008 as well

there is a .cmd file when you extract the PSP
in the folder execute that and let installation run

Are your G3's under contract? G4's have been going out of warranty recently, so it would be extremely unusual for a G3 to be still under it's 3 year warranty.

This server isn't specifically listed as supported, but as Karlo said you should be able to install the 2008 PSP and get that to work. Here is where you can see the servers that are supported with 2008:

Cool ... the PSP's installed just fine and the only extra stuff I needed were the NIC drivers and the Network Configuration utility so I could team the NICs.

Not sure how to assign points ... but will try to figure it out. I have another problem here. I now need to rebuild this server. The server is in an auto reboot state. Everytime i try to load the OS in normal mode, safe mode ... last known good it reboots on various stages of the OS boot. What Smart Start Start CD should i use and what OS do i select since 2008 is not an option.

OK ... I'm using 8.1 now and I see 2008 as an option but my 2008 DVD does not use a CD key. I'm trying 'Core - HP Brand since the other two required a CD key.
