DL380 G3 and SA 6402

Hello Chaps,

Currently we have a DL380 G3 and have recently put in a Smart Array 6402 controller in the box. Now I want to use the new SA6402 rather than the integrated SA 5i. I understand I have to plug the cable from the new SA6402 into the the existing internal SCSI port on the backpane. Since I want to use the full Ultra-320 speeds, can you please let me know the type of cable or even better the product code of the internal scsi cable that I need. I did look at 166389-B21 but not sure if this support Ultra-320. All my hard drives are Ultra-320 and running at 15K.

Hi Sam,

Go for 289567-001 -- SCSI cable kit includes SCSI cable, short, 68 pin, SCSI cable, long, 68 pin System cable, and SCSI, 50 pin cable.

I also attached the diagram for cabling, take a look.

Hi Sam,

DL380G3 system can be operated in single channel (using either the embedded Smart Array 5i Plus controller or a PCI-based controller) or dual channel (with the first 2 drives on 1 channel, driven by the Smart Array 5i Plus controller and 4 drives driven by either the Smart Array 5i Plus or a PCI-based controller)

SCSI Configuration Kit (Kit Includes duplex drive backplane terminator and 2 long SCSI cables) which normaly used in DL380 G4 with SA6400 controller that support U320
