DL380 G3 cluster with MSA500 (Windows 2003)
Hi,
I've just started setting up my packaged cluster and I've ran into a few problems setting up the array.
When I run the ACU from the first node of the cluster all seems OK. I have 10 disks split into 2 arrays (1 spare on each array) - the arrays are created OK, the logical drives are created OK, but when I view them in Windows Disk Mgr it shows 10 logical drives, when I have only created 5?
The second node has not been powered on while the array is on, I've rebooted in the correct places, etc.
All help appreciated!
Scott

Re: DL380 G3 cluster with MSA500 (Windows 2003)
Hi Scott,
do you have the MSA500 connected fully redundant? i.e. 4-port I/O module, 2x MSA500 controllers, extra SA-642 in each node, 2 SCSI cables from each node to the MSA500.
If so, you must install the Smart Array Multipath Software (which comes with the 4-port I/O module)
Regards,
Stephen

Re: DL380 G3 cluster with MSA500 (Windows 2003)
Hi Stephen,
Many thanks for the quick reply.
I have indeed - its fully redundant.
Your absolutely correct - both nodes have been configured from Ghost images that didnt have smart array software installed
I'll go and install it now and hope that all is well.
Cheers,
Scott
