DL380 G3 reboots unexpectedly
I have a strange Issue. My server is a DL380 G3 and is unexpectedly rebooting at times. There are no issues seen in the event logs. Everything is plain also Event ID 6008 "unexpected reboot".
Once it reboots, it keeps on rebooting unless I power off through ILO and power on again. After that it remains steady for a few hours or days..
The processor is 2400 mhz and has 2GB of RAM.
anyone faced any issues like this?
** I looked for .dmp files but nothing is there. I have complete dump configured for this. I am not much of a hardware person, but any help to run a full hardware diags would be very helpful..
Thx for you help in advance

in which stage server is rebooting after first time reboots?
during POST?
loading windows?
...?
it's all up to date?
I mean Firmware 8.0 at least
proliant support pack?
windows updates
also what if you try minimun configuration
1 Processor, 2 memory dimms, no PCI card if any, no storage devices

Re: DL380 G3 reboots unexpectedly
The server starts rebooting as soon as i select the windows 2003 Std and before the windows page.
Can you please guide me how to do a full hardware diagnostics?
I try to use the System Managment Home page, but it times out everytime I try.
This server is in the DMZ.
Thx

Re: DL380 G3 reboots unexpectedly
Since it reboots after u select the OS, I don't think its a H/w issue. Is there any FAULT LEDs lit up ?
Does it boot into safe mode ?
& the Famous Q - What changes did you make to the server before this started happening ?
;) Regards,
