DL380 G3

I am having some trouble with a DL380 G3 with Ultra320 SCSI harddrives, it is giving me a bugcheck 0x44 error which causes random reboots. We had already installed a Interactive Voice Response (IVR) application, and a Dialogic D/480JCT 2T1 card, and put it in production before we started seeing these errors. There is a strong possibility that the problem is server related, HP has requested that we put the server back to the bare bones (remove Dialogic card and Software) to verify that it is the server. One of my problems is it cost $2800 to install the (IVR) software, and it will cost another $2800 to reinstall. We currently have a ML350 G2 with Ultra3 SCSI harddrives that we have not moved to production yet. What I would like to know is, can I move the drives from the DL380 to the ML350, boot into safe mode, change the necessary drivers, and boot up a operational system, or even better, can I GHOST the system from one server to the other? I have a couple of 9gb drives that would allow me to test the DL380 while the ML350 is running the IVR application. I just do not want to pay another $2800 to have this application reinstalled, I also do not want a defective server sitting around my office either. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Re: DL380 G3

Kenneth,

I think your problem may be due to an issue with management drivers and the integrated ILO on the DL380 G3 server. This affects both 2000 and 2003. Driver links are available below for both versions.

Here is an extract from the Customer Advisory on this.

Hope this helps.

Brian

Re: DL380 G3

I am currently running Smart Pack 6.40, to install the versions that I have seen I would have to go back to earlier revisions, which I am considering. HP told me remain with the newer versions and bring the server down to the bare-bones and test for the problem, so that is what I am trying to do.
