DL380 G4 Embeded NIC
Hi All,
I have the above server and have disabled one NIC in the bios. I have loaded up MS Server 2003 with SP1.
Even though i have disabled the NIC in bios, windows still sees it.
Any ideas here?
Thank you.

Re: DL380 G4 Embeded NIC
Hi,
what option did you use to disable the NIC in RBSU? Are you sure you didn't just disable the PXE boot funtion?
Regards,
Stephen

Re: DL380 G4 Embeded NIC
LOL.........yes i did.
I actually disabled the PXE functions on both nics. System options, Embeded Nic Port * PXE Support
Then went to the ROM setup screen, PCI devices, and disabled the PCI embeded port 2

Re: DL380 G4 Embeded NIC
OK, just had to make sure :-)
Then I'm stuck, because if you disabled it in the PCI devices menu, then I would think it should not show up in the OS. Haven't actually tried this myself, so I can't give a definite answer. If I want a NIC disabled in Windows I usually just disable it there.

Stephen
