DL380 G4 Memory/POSt issue
Has anyone seen any problems with 2GB dimms on this server. We have had 4 recently all with 2 x 2GB dimms in each (4GB total) and when you turn on the server all LEDs seem to indicate it is doing a POST but there is no display, no beeps and no dimm failure LEDs internally. Upon replacement of all said dimms this cured the issue. Possible memory batch issue???

Re: DL380 G4 Memory/POSt issue
Hi John,
No there is no such memory batch issue.
Did you check the Spare Part # of the DIMMs you used ?

Re: DL380 G4 Memory/POSt issue
Hi James
Thanks for the response. Already seen this advisory and all Dimms were identical in part no.
We had this problem in the recent past on another server but were not suspicious for one server. All 4 present servers had a normal Win2003 update applied and were rebooted to get this problem. All firmware revisions up to date and even a system board was replaced to try and cure initially. Just seems odd for 8 dimms to fail altogether
