DL380 G4 Memory Problem
We have just bought two DL380 G4, they came with 1Gb memory as default and we bought an extra 4Gb (2x2Gb). When I put in the extra memory in slot DIMM3B and DIMM4B, it won't boot at all and if I put the 2x2Gb in DIMM1A and DIMM2A I get a error message that says "Dual ranked memory not supported".
The extra memory is the right memory, PC2-3200 DDR. The same thing happens on both servers. Anyone who knows what is wrong?

Hi Sebastian
Make sure you are using the following
4GB of Single-Ranked PC2 PC3200 DDR2 SDRAM DIMM Memory Kit (2x2048 MB)
Option P/N ├в 343057-B2

Re: DL380 G4 Memory Problem
Hi Robin,
Thanks for you reply. We had the right memory, but it was faulty and HP have recalled it. Apparently they have had a lot of problems with these modules.

Re: DL380 G4 Memory Problem
Hi,
Part. 343057-B21
The Dual Rank Issue is now sorted from HP.
What you have to do is update your servers (DL380) firmware. Available from HP support web-site.
