DL380 G4 Teaming failed

This server teaming failed this morning with the following System log:

Source: CPQTeamMP
Category: None
EventID: 448

HP Network Team #1: The Primary team member is unvailable and no non-Primary team member is available for failover.

Basically, it stopped sending/receiving and we were unable to remote to it. A reboot fixed this.

More information:
By doing an IPCONFIG, it showed that there was no IP address and a message displayed saying the that the teaming was broken.

Management Agents Version: 7.1
Teaming Agent version: 7.60.0.0

Uninstall older teaming and reinstall all with newer Versions
Driver and Teaming SW

Re: DL380 G4 Teaming failed

Uninstall Teaming = Uninstall Network configuration from NIC Properties
Drive should be Installed first and Network config second, Reconfigure and test

Re: DL380 G4 Teaming failed

Thanks,

I won't be able to do that until next weekend.

Is there a reason, other than old drivers, that this could have happened?

Re: DL380 G4 Teaming failed

Chris,
Unforunately, there isn't enough information about the problem to accurately determine the problem.

- how many members in the team?
- did you see any red Xs on the icons for the team members in the Network Configuration GUI?
- did you try disabling the local area connection for the Team and then re-enabled it?

I also recommend upgrading to Teaming agent version 8.10. The next time you get this failure (if you still get it with the new driver), run the hpnetsvy.exe utility to gather all information about Teaming and teamed NICs. Output to a text file and you'll have all the info you need to have a support case created.

Regards,
