DL380 G4, adding new drives

Hi,

I have a DL380 G4 server with 2 32GB drives in a mirrored fashion (Raid 1).
I now have 4 72GB drives that I want to replace the existing 2 32GB drives. I'm thinking of moving it into RAID 5 or either a RAID 1+0.

What is the ideal way of going about this?
I was thinking of:
1. Backing up the existing drives with Acronis True Image.
2. Removing the 2 32GB drives, and replace them with the 4 72GB drives.
3. Then configure the RAID, either RAID 5 or RAID 1+0 (is this part pretty self explanatory with the software provided with the server?)
4. Restore the original drives to the new RAID setup.

Any suggestions, tips?

Thank You

Here is what we suggest.
Leave the 36GB drives with the OS. Install a RAID 5 of the 73GB drives and move the programs and data to there. Seperation is a good thing. You can expand the RAID5 for ever with out effecting the OS

Assuming you have a 5i raid controller or better and are using hardware raid...you could...

1. Remove the second of the mirror pair
2. Replace it with one of the 72 gig and allow it to mirror up
3. Remove the first drive
4. Replace with the 72gig and allow it to mirror up
5. The additonal space can be added in using the Array config utility and Windows Disk manager.
