DL380 G4 does not boot (no POST)

I have a DL380 G4 and after placing a HP SC11Xe PCI Host Bus adapter it does not boot anymore. I've removed the PCI card but still the server does not boot. NOTHING is displayed on monitor after switching back on the server. DOES anyone ever experienced the same problem? Even when I insert the SMART START CD it does not boot.... never seen anything like this...

Re: DL380 G4 does not boot (no POST)

Hi,

Does the server display any amber leds on the system board or front panel? Check with the top cover diagram if any are lit.

Is it possible that the PCI riser card hasn't seated properly into the system board (interlock error) when you were installing the add-on card?

If no leds are lit, try a clear cmos. (Set switch 6 on the maintenance switchpack to on) and power up.

Regards,

Brian
