DL380 G4 doesn't display initial HP splash screen
Dear all,
today after a power off (software) a DL380 G4 server doesn't want to start. Everything seems to be working well, no other led than the usuals are on, but I don't obtain the initial HP splash screen. (The monitor works well :-)).
What test can I do to find the problem?
Thanks

Re: DL380 G4 doesn't display initial HP splash screen
Hi Enrico,
To narrow down, boot the server with minimum hardware configuration (power down the server, remove the power cables, remove all PCI cards, hard drives, remove all the memory modules and install only one bank memory), also try reseating the PPMS and check. If server shows display, install one component at a time to isolate faulty component.
If not, power on the server and remove the server cover and check the any amber LEDs which indicates faulty components.
Also, try to login to ilo and check the server status and check IML logs.
Regards,
Murali Mohan

Re: DL380 G4 doesn't display initial HP splash screen
What did you do before powering off? Upgrade firmware or BIOS? If you did the BIOS or firmware, it could be a dead server board.

Ok, at the end the problem was the mother board.
Thanks to all for your help.
