I connect serial modem to serial port of my DL380 G4. After 5-15 minutes of connection, modem hang up and serial port dissapeared from device manager.
I tried to reboot, but nothing changed.
I found solution in powering of and disconnecting power cords from server.
But when i try to connect again, my problem is continued.
Any suggestions? Seems like dead serial controller.
Do i need to change motherboard or this is software issue?
Solved! Go to Solution.

SolutionPlease also check the the problem is not caused by the ILO CLI function being enabled. This polls the serial port and can cause COM port issues.

I hope this helps,
