DL380 G5 Swapping NIC Ports in W2K3
Hi,
I have installed roughly 20 DL380 G5's in the last few months...
Each time I cable up Physical NIC 1 labelled on the port on the back of the server. After I then build this to W2K3, the OS seems to transpose the NIC's and the connected NIC is labelled Port 2 in the OS..
Is this a common fault & is there a way to stop it from happening?

Re: DL380 G5 Swapping NIC Ports in W2K3
I've had the same problem.
it's due to windows installation ... obviously.
I'm right now installing a w2k3 x64 enterprise.
if you install the os connecting the two NICs, the problem doesn't appear.
and the os ask you more information about lan and wan configuration ...
have you tried?
bye.
TJK.

No, we have an automated build process that drops down a base image....I havent tried multiple network connections though....
